Team USA’s Alysa Liu completed her Hollywood ending to take gold at the Winter Olympics

Alysa Liu became the first American woman to win an individual figure skating medal at the Olympics in 20 years.

Nakai landed her opening triple axel, the most difficult triple jump in the sport. She and American skater Amber Glenn were the only two skaters to attempt it. But she did just a double toe loop instead of a triple on her triple lutz, triple toe loop combination — a costly error.

Japan's Mari Fukada wins gold, and Kokomo Murase took home the bronze.
