More than 30,000 people participated in the United Airlines New York City half-marathon on Sunday, the New York Road Runners said.

A minor, 2.3-magnitude earthquake struck about 12 miles north of New York City on Tuesday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor happened at 10:17 a.m. Eastern in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., data from the agency shows.

New York City has been selected to participate in a federal air taxi pilot program that could allow travelers to bypass ground traffic and fly from Manhattan to local airports in minutes. According to the New York Post,
