A powerful storm chain has brought blizzard conditions to the Upper Midwest, with dangerous winds elsewhere and the threat of severe storms heading east. Parts of Hawaii report more than 20 inches of rain.

Scattered snow showers are expected from time to time this afternoon with temperatures in the 20s and wind chills in the teens.

Blizzard conditions and high winds battered the Midwest, while forecasters warn a sweeping storm could bring damaging winds and tornadoes to the Eastern U.S. by Monday.

Winter Weather Advisory until 9pm Tonight for all of SE WI Snow is winding down, the wind will remain gusty tonight creating blowing ground snow. Skies will clear leading to a COLD night. Wind chills below 0 this evening and around -5 to -15 by morning.

Strong gusts this morning will subside into the afternoon with areas of blowing snow becoming less of an issue later in the day. Slick roads from overnight are clearing up and should be better with some March sun helping to melt the ice and snow even with temps below freezing.
