A BNSF Railway freight train from Everett to Custer, WA passes through Fairhaven right along the waters of Puget Sound. Two locomotives that once belonged to BNSF predecessor Burlington Northern are on the front of the train. BNSF 3009 is a GP40M type and BNSF 2092 is a GP38-2.
