While the whitetail deer rut peaks in mid-November, the breeding season for moose in New York is finished by the end of October. Bull #moose exert a lot of energy sparring with each other during the rut and at this time of year are feeding heavily to gain weight for winter. Keep an eye on the ground over the next few months -- bulls shed their antlers anywhere from November to January.
