Earlier this month, DEC deployed GPS collars on nineteen moose calves within the Adirondack Park. The collaring effort is part of a multi-year study, in collaboration with Cornell University and SUNY ESF, to assess the survival of juvenile moose in the Adirondacks. There are currently thirty moose calves and yearlings outfitted with tracking collars, with the majority located in the northern portions of the Park (Franklin and Clinton counties).
