This extraordinary crossbedding is caused by wind blown sand dunes creating lateral layer after layer. Under pressure the layers solidify and then erosion exposes these beautiful formations. So this video is a time lapse. Technically a hyperlapse because the camera is moving. I had to stand their motionless for nearly 30 minutes while this was filmed.
